The day after the Most Unusual Wedding Fair in November 2025, I joined the lovely Penny, Shell, Meg and Jess for a beautiful photoshoot at Godwick Great Barn.

The previous day’s fair stands from Synched Events and Floral Sistas were repurposed and expanded to create the most luxe and dreamy set up.
The serpentine table arrangement featured acres of elegant draping. Layers of linens were set with curated crockery and glassware from Banqueting Hire, while vintage candlesticks holding tall, stone-toned tapers provided a warm, ambient glow. Hand-lettered place names and table numbers, crafted by Penny, added a personal touch to each setting. Shallow bowls of delicate, chocolate-coloured cosmos rose from the neutral fabric folds, providing both height and a sophisticated colour contrast.
“Aiming for a luxe, layered look throughout with vintage silverware and delicate cosmos scattered along the winding table to create a wave of interest through the barn.” Penny Synched Events
A tower of indulgent chocolate desserts and cocktails served as a stunning edible focal point. Layers of rich, cocoa-brown fabrics were topped with an artful selection of vintage silverware, platters, and dishes. Gourmet brownies and truffles from B&R Dining and Alstons Confectionery were styled alongside fresh blackberries, dates, and dark chocolate shards. Espresso martinis served as the crowning glory, completing this decadent and tonal display.

“Chocolate and coffee cocktail dessert stations, who's in?
When styling your dessert and cocktail stations opt for tonal desserts and finishing touches - we picked coffee beans, chocolate shards, dates and blackberries for this to look super stylish and editorial.” Penny Synched Events

The ceremony area featured a layered draped backdrop, pinned and tucked by Penny, falling onto a raised podium with a statement floral focal point.
Floral Sistas used big blousy hydrangeas, caffe latte, cappuccino, Westminster and quicksand roses, the most exquisite lisianthus and deep, dark cosmos in their organic, growing floral towers.
A swathe of dark chocolate taffeta added contrast with clusters of pillar candles in cylinder vases to complete the look.

The ceremony area was then transformed into the perfect backdrop for my cake using a draped plinth. The cake was a two tier stone effect drape cake with gentle undulating curves of stippled sugarpaste. To tie in with the overall scheme, I added a few delicate stems of the ‘Brownies lisianthus’. I do love a lisianthus as they come in such a wide variety of colours and textures. I’ve never seen anything like these ones though, they almost look like they’ve been drawn in a fine line to create a three dimensional living illustration.

While we were all beavering away at the ceremony end of the barn, Emily from Love Moi and Laura Howard Hair and Makeup were working their magic on two beautiful models Erin and Luxna. Wearing dresses from Rue de Seine at White Reflections Bridal they took their places within the set up perfectly.
All of this gorgeousness was created in a matter of hours between school drop off and pick ups, by an awesome group of talented ladies.
"Just a group of powerhouse women making magic happen — between school runs, life chaos, and wedmin. Here's to the wedding suppliers who juggle it all and still create beauty. #WomenWhoCreate" - Floral Sistas

This was all captured throughout the day in stunning quality by the always wonderful, Jess from Jessica Ren Photography
In addition to the stone draped cake, I also brought along another sculptural cake to be photographed by Jess. The stacked cubes were painted and lacquered to look like deep brown marble with delicate seams running through. The cake was finished with my new favourite technique of making edible muslin using wafer paper. I made lots of these sculptural drapes and left them to set in curves and swathes which added life and movement to the final cake design.

Though it wasn’t officially part of the luxe mocha wedding shoot, it fitted nicely with the Godwick Barn ceremony backdrop styled by Penny and florals from Michelle and Megan and it was lovely to have the professional photos taken. This is another reason why I love being involved in these creative shoot days with the amazing suppliers I call friends.
